Hawthorn has got through its first JLT Series hit-out unscathed, with no major injuries arising from the loss to the Brisbane Lions on Sunday.
David Mirra and James Worpel were the only notable injury concerns from the weekend, with both looming likely to be available for selection against Richmond.
“Worpel landed awkwardly and hyper-extended his knee in the game,” Physical Performance Manager Luke Boyd said.
“He has pulled up really well from the game and we expect him to play this weekend.
“Miz injured his ankle just before half-time and, after cooling down, we really struggled to get him going.
“He was quite sore, so we decided not to play him in the second half of the game and he will be a test for this week.”
Meanwhile a fleet of senior players are continuing their progression back to full fitness.
The Hawks forward line is set for a boost when the likes of Chad Wingard (calf) and Jack Gunston (ITB friction) return from their respective injuries.
“Wings has had a bit of a setback with his calf, so it’s taken him a little bit longer than expected.
“We expect to see him in the early rounds of the season but at this stage he won’t be playing Round 1.
“Gunston is back into the skills program now and he will be a test to play this week.”
