The Hawks could be buoyed by the return of key defender James Frawley as early as this weekend.
After recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in Round 4, Frawley is nearing full fitness and will be a test to play against the Giants, according to Physical Performance Manager Luke Boyd.
"[James] settled down really quickly which was good from our point of view," Boyd said.
"He's obviously ticked off the high speed running component, he's back into the skills program, and at this stage he'll train for the rest of the week and should be available to play."
Meanwhile, Tim Mohr has provided an update on his recovery, after the defender suffered a serious knee injury in Box Hill’s practice match approximately six weeks ago.
In the process of dislocating his knee, Mohr bruised a nerve that supplies a group of muscles down in the foot, resulting in some weakness in this area.
“Recovery is coming along pretty well. I’ve got good movement in my knee, I’m just waiting for the whole foot thing to catch up with it now, but all in all [I’m feeling] pretty good,” Mohr said.
