Go Healthy Tasmania!

That’s the message being delivered in Round 17 when the Hawks take on the Dockers at UTAS Stadium.

A key focus of the club’s partnership with the Department of Health is to help Tasmania become the healthiest state in Australia by 2025.

The Round 17 match day experience will offer another step in the right direction; through a range of fun activities and match day prizes, the Hawks will encourage conversations around healthy habits, active lifestyles and good food choices.

Food vouchers to the Young’s Veggie Shed, family tickets to see Encore Theatre’s production of We Will Rock You, and limited edition drink bottles are just some of the giveaways on offer.

Fans will be entertained by a giant game of volleyball ahead of the first bounce, and attendees can step out onto the concourse to trial Tasmania’s first Nintendo interactive outside game set up.

According to Hawthorn CEO Justin Reeves, the game is one of the many initiatives the club has put in motion to help promote a healthy Tasmania.

“The Healthy Tasmania Game is just one example of how we’re working with the people of Tasmania to promote the benefits of being active and making healthy lifestyle choices,” Reeves said.

“Our Round 17 match will demonstrate that there are many simple, achievable and cost-effective ways to help create healthier versions of ourselves.

“Working closely with the Tasmanian Government, our aim is to encourage people to take control of their health and wellbeing.”
