Liam Shiels

Last week was huge for Shiels.

The midfielder played his 200th game and celebrated accordingly with a win over arch rivals Geelong, 29 possessions and two goals.

Undoubtedly the number 26 will still be on cloud nine and will run onto the ground this weekend full of confidence.

Will the reliable midfielder be able to repeat his milestone performance?

Mitch Lewis

Speaking of big weeks, none have been bigger than the week Mitch Lewis has had.

The 20-year-old was announced as the Round 18 Rising Star after his three-goal performance against Geelong.

Lewis’ game against the Cats was just another in a string of impressive performances in recent weeks.

In the past three rounds he has averaged 15 disposals and two goals.

However, with the attention he has received this week, he won’t be flying under the radar and will be at the forefront of the Brisbane defenders’ minds.

How will Lewis go after his week in the spotlight?

Luke Hodge

There’s been chat in the media that this season will be Hodge’s last.

If that’s the case this could possibly be the last time the former Hawthorn captain plays against his old club.

Since joining the Lions, Hodge has brought a curse with him.

Every time these two clubs meet, Brisbane has our measure.

Surely the Hawks would love to get one up on their old teammate before he hangs up the boots?

Tim O’Brien

Another Hawk who had a big impact last week is Tim O’Brien.

O’Brien’s three goals in Round 18 were his first majors for the year after spending most of this season in defence.

After his performance last week you would think that O’Brien will start up forward to provide a third tall target alongside Conor Nash and Mitch Lewis.

His marking ability has been outstanding.

Will O’Brien take another mark of the year contender this week?

Eric Hipwood

Eric Hipwood is one of Brisbane’s most dangerous forwards.

The 21-year-old has the ability to turn a game on its head.

His Round 15 performance against Melbourne immediately comes to mind where he kicked four goals in a 15-minute period to put the game out of reach of the Demons.

The key forward is quick for his 204-centimetre frame and averages around two goals a game.

Once Hipwood is on a roll he’s hard to stop.
