AFTER some well-deserved rest and relaxation, Hawthorn's senior players returned to the club to begin their pre-season training today.
The senior group joined their first to fourth year teammates, who have been training for almost a fortnight, and this year's draftees.

The playing group completed a lengthy outdoor session, which included a mix of football drills and fitness work, before heading indoors to hit the weights and pre-season testing.

Skipper Luke Hodge - sporting a freshly grown beard - and vice-captains Jordan Lewis and Jarryd Roughead were all heavily involved in training.
Premiership hero James Frawley, ruckman Jon Ceglar and recently re-signed utility Brendan Whitecross were all on the track after having post-season surgery.
Senior players Sam Mitchell and Grant Birchall, who both represented Australia in the International Rules match against Ireland last month, were absent from training.
After training, Norm Smith Medallist Cyril Rioli announced he had extended his contract until the end of 2019.
