HAWTHORN is happy with the outcome of the 2015 NAB AFL Trade Period, according to Recruiting and List Manager Graham Wright.

Wright predicted the Hawks would be quieter during this year's trade period than in previous years, which turned out to be the case.

Young Hawk Jed Anderson was traded to North Melbourne early in the piece, while former Melbourne big man Jack Fitzpatrick became a Hawk on the penultimate day of trading.

"We've ended up moving up the order from a draft perspective and with two picks inside 20 we're pretty happy," Wright said.

Fitzpatrick, a 24-year-old ruckman-forward, will add depth to the Hawks after the retirement of triple premiership player David Hale.

"We were rapt to bring him in," Wright said.

"He gives us a bit of ruck and forward back-up, which we're pleased with.

"Losing Jed Anderson was disappointing... but it allowed us to get that pick inside 20."

The Hawks hold picks 15 and 18, and this will be the first year since 2005 that the club has had two selections inside the top 20.

"We're rapt to have them, and we think in this draft we'll get a couple of good players," Wright said.
