ALASTAIR Clarkson will coach his 250th AFL game when Hawthorn takes on Richmond on Friday night at the MCG.
Clarkson began his tenure as Hawthorn’s senior coach in 2005.
Now in his 11th season at the helm, he has guided the club to 156 victories, at a strike rate of 62.85%.
In his time as coach, Clarkson has coached the Hawks in 18 finals.
The club has played in four grand finals, and won three – in 2008, 2013 and 2014 – under Clarkson.
He is one of three coaches to guide the Hawks to three premierships – alongside John Kennedy Sr and Allan Jeans – and sits second in the list of games coached for Hawthorn, behind Kennedy Sr.
Friday night’s match will see Clarkson become one of just 27 people to coach 250 (or more) games at AFL-VFL level.
