HAWTHORN fans turned out in force to welcome the three-peat premierships cups back to Waverley Park at the weekend.

After a month-long tour of Australia, the cups were welcomed by more than 4000 people at club headquarters across Saturday and Sunday.

The 2015 Premiership Cup Tour started on October 31, with the 2013, 2014 and 2015 premiership cups visiting Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Tasmania (Hobart, Launceston, Devonport and Burnie), Darwin, Katherine and finally, Melbourne.

Plenty of fans turned out across the tour to get their photo taken with the cup.

A total of $10,574.75 was raised for Hawthorn community partner, Starlight Children’s Foundation, with fans making a gold coin donation when getting their photo taken with the cups.

CEO Stuart Fox said the club was overjoyed to be able to share its success with fans in all parts of Australia.

“We are thrilled to be able to share our premiership win with Hawks members and fans across the country,” he said.

“We know of several passionate fans who travelled from remote country towns for hours to have their photo taken with the cups, which is an incredible example of the dedication and loyalty of our supporters.

“It has been a pleasure to know how much joy the cups bring our members and supporters, and we’re very proud to recognise that all funds we raised through the tour will be donated to our Community Partner Starlight Children’s Foundation.”

A ninth leg of the tour awaits, with Mildura winning the rights to host the cups after winning the ‘Cups to Country’ competition.

The three cups will visit Mildura on Saturday 19 December – accompanied by three-time premiership star Brian Lake.
