BOX Hill Hawks enjoyed their 11th win of the VFL season on Saturday, to move a game clear inside the top two.
Hawks’ Coach Marco Bello said there were a number of strong Hawthorn-listed players in the Hawks’ 39-point VFL win against Richmond on Saturday.
Jonathan Simpkin
“Jonathan Simpkin had 33 disposals, he would have had five or six inside-50s and six or so tackles as well. At both ends of the game he made an impact.”
Jonathon Ceglar
“Jonathon Ceglar gave us first use – he had 48 hit-outs and our midfielders reaped the rewards of that.”
Tim O’Brien
“Tim O’Brien in the forward line finished with three goals, and he could have quite possibly finished with four or five.
"He showed some real energy around the contest with his lead-ups, and his attack at ground level for a tall man was super impressive.”
Teia Miles
“At the back end, Teia Miles again showed his ability to use the footy and take the game on.
“He wins a lot of contests and he’s an elite user of the football – when he gets it in his hands he makes smart decisions.”
James Sicily
“He was good up until half-time – he was probably our best player until then, when he hurt his hand.”
Marc Pittonet and Shem Tatupu
“It was probably their two best games at senior level, so they’re growing in confidence and ability to play at that level.”
