HAWTHORN players dominated the coaches’ votes in the club's 89-point win over Sydney Swans, with Cyril Rioli named the Hawks’ best.
 
Rioli was awarded nine votes and was also named in the forward pocket of the AFL.com.au Team of the Week after a scintillating performance that comprised three goals, 20 disposals, eight tackles and a game-high four contested marks.
 
Forward Jack Gunston set the Hawks in motion, kicking three first-quarter goals and was handed six votes after finishing with a bag of four along with 18 disposals.
 
The returning Jarryd Roughead showed no signs of his time on the sidelines after recovering from surgery to remove a melanoma, with his five-goal performance matched with five votes from Alastair Clarkson and John Longmire.
 
Roughead was also named at centre-half forward in the AFL.com.au Team of the Week for Round 16.
 
A season-high nine marks, 27 disposals and four rebound-50s from triple-premiership defender Grant Birchall earned him four votes as the Hawks’ defence kept Sydney to just seven goals.
 
Captain Luke Hodge’s 30 possessions saw him handed two votes from the coaches, as well as a position on the half back flank in the AFL.com.au Team of the Week.
 
Luke Breust (two), Brian Lake (one) and Sam Mitchell (one) rounded out the votes for the Hawks.
