Review
Isaac Smith is Mr. Consistent.
The midfielder played 25 of a possible 26 games during 2015 and averaged over 23 disposals.
Since making his AFL debut in 2011, Smith has missed just 10 games.
Smith was ranked in the top 20 in the competition for average disposals per game (23) and top ten for kicks (14).
In the space of five seasons he has gone from being a state league footballer to a three-time premiership player.
Now 26, Smith has speed to burn, a knack of hitting the scoreboard and consistently play his role in a star-studded Hawthorn line-up.
The hard-running midfielder was a key component of the Hawks’ back-to-back premierships in 2013 and 2014, but arguably took his game to another level in 2015.
An emerging leader at the Hawks, Smith has the best win-loss record of any player in the competition.
He has won 89 of a possible 113 games since his debut.
Smith, who was among the Hawks’ best on grand final day with 23 disposals and three goals, said he still pinches himself occasionally.
“Yeah, sometimes,” he said in the aftermath of the Hawks’ win.
“You just take every day as it is and you work hard, and if you work hard special things happen, so it’s pretty exciting.”

“He’s been a really important player for us,” said Fagan.
“There are many people in the game who think he’s pretty close to being an All Australian, and I’d be one of the people who support that idea.
“He’s a pure wingman in the way that he plays, and the great part about him is that he’s a goal kicking wingman, as we saw in the grand final and in other games during the year.
“The other thing that’s really developed in Isaac this year which we’re so pleased about is that he’s become much more of a leader around the footy club, and he’s got a lot of potential in that area.”
