Four-time Coleman Medallist and dual premiership player Lance Franklin has been awarded AFL life membership in recognition of his stellar football career.
The former Hawk, who currently plays for Sydney, was inducted alongside Collingwood’s Scott Pendlebury, GWS’ Heath Shaw, Fremantle’s David Mundy and umpire Ray Chamberlain.
Franklin played 182 games across nine seasons for the Hawks, before joining Sydney via free agency at the end of 2013.
He booted 580 goals in the brown and gold, the 5th most of all time, and achieved four of his eight All Australian selections during his time at Waverley.
He has since added a further 108 games for the Swans and is widely regarded as one of the best players of the modern era.
The Hawthorn Football Club wishes to congratulate Franklin on his latest accolade and incredible career.
