Shaun Burgoyne has officially entered the all-time top 10 for most games played.
He achieved the feat on Saturday afternoon, when he lined up for his 364th AFL game, equalling Brad Johnson in 10th position.
The 36-year-old said that while these types of milestones are nice to recognise with family, they are far from the focus at this point in time.
“I’m not really looking at that at the moment,” Burgoyne said after Hawthorn’s win.
“Whatever I end up with when I retire I’ll be happy with.
“It’s nice, especially for my kids, they love this kind of thing, but I’ll just worry about the games at the moment and [focus on] what’s in front of me.”
Burgoyne commenced his career at Alberton Oval, notching up 157 for the Power before crossing to Waverley at the end of 2009.
There was speculation that his best footy may be behind him, but Burgoyne quickly silenced his critics, going on to add another 207 games (and three premierships) across nine and a half seasons in the brown and gold, and counting.
The veteran is now closing in on the record for most games played by an Indigenous player, currently held by Adam Goodes at 372.
Barring injury or suspension, Burgoyne would be set to achieve this feat against North Melbourne in Round 20.
