It is exciting to be starting a new season in 2019. The first quarter started with Richmond getting 2 goals. Hawthorn was a bit slow to get a goal. The scores at the end of the first quarter were - Rich-19 Haw-7. It was a great start to the game.

The second quarter was fantastic! Joe Chivers was a good defender, he intercepted Richmond’s passes a lot. Brian Owen scored a good goal over his shoulder. At half time the score was Richmond 27 points and Hawthorn 14 points.

The third quarter started with Peter Ogunyemi performing well with 2 goals in the first 30 seconds. This kept us in the game. Third Quarter Score  Rich- 40 Haw-27.

The game ended with Richmond winning Rich-48 Haw-35.

I was proud of my team. I felt it was an important match - and my part in the game made me feel special.

There’s plenty of room for improvement heading into our second match for the season, but the team should be proud of their efforts in round 1 and optimistic about the 2019 season!
