Hawthorn’s VFLW side said goodbye to three highly-respected players at the conclusion of the 2019 season.
Steph Carroll, Jess Sibley and Dianna Haines called time on their VFLW careers following the Hawks final game of the year in Round 16 against Collingwood.
All three joined the Hawks in 2018, having arrived at the club through a variety of different avenues.
Carroll came to the Hawks after playing at the Eastern Devils for four seasons. During her two seasons at the club Carroll was part of the 2018 premiership-winning side and in the same year was named Hawthorn’s best club person. This year Carroll became the club’s first player to reach 50 games.
Sibley also notched up a milestone this season playing her 100th career game. Sibley joined the Hawks in 2018 after spending a large portion of her career playing in the ACT. She was a leader in Hawthorn’s defence and played a pivotal role in the Hawks’ 2018 premiership side.
Haines joined Hawthorn after spending 10 seasons at Diamond Creek where she played 149 games and captained the club to a premiership in 2012.
The experienced trio will leave a lasting memory on the Hawks family with all three providing leadership, experience and friendship across their time at Hawthorn.
We wish them all the best and thank them for their contribution to our club.
