Defender David Mirra says the Box Hill group is remaining positive after the Hawks fell to Essendon by 10 points on Saturday.
The Hawks have now won just one of its last five games, facing four of the top five sides in the competition throughout that period.
Mirra contended that the Hawks had been competitive in every game over that span and had to stick fat as they were playing a good brand of footy.
"We reflected post-game and everything was pretty positive," Mirra said post-match.
"Essendon came out and played a pretty good brand of footy so credit to them.
"But some things for us really worked today and we can take them into the rest of the season."
Max Bailey's side will now turn its attention to Sandringham who they will host at Box Hill City Oval this Saturday at 2.10pm.
