After Hawthorn’s VFLW side’s 13-point victory over Richmond on the weekend, vice-captain Rosie Dillon said it was a win they were ‘happy to get’.
“We’ve been having some struggles for a four-quarter effort for the last couple of weeks and this week we produced the four-quarter effort as a team and obviously it payed off, so it was good,” said Dillon post-match.
The 23-year-old stepped in as captain for the day and lead the side to its first win in three weeks.
Dillon has been having an impressive season so far, being named in the best on nine of the ten games the side has played.
Currently averaging 17.8 disposals and five tackles, the midfielder sits fourth in the competition’s disposals count and was humble when discussing her consistent form.
“It feels good and I've come a long way, so that feels even better.”
The Hawks have a bye this week and will be spending the time visiting local clubs and refreshing for their game against Melbourne University on August 4th.
“We’ve got a community week so we’ll head out to some local clubs and get around the community and then come back and reset and hopefully have a good end to the season.”
