Hawthorn put on a dominant performance against Port Adelaide at University of Tasmania Stadium on Saturday afternoon defeating the Power by 31 points.
The Hawks kept the Power scoreless in the first quarter and goalless until midway through the second, whilst Hawthorn piled on six goals themselves.
The Hawks’ quick start proved to be the difference as they were able to hold onto the lead for the rest of the match.
Jack Gunston was the star kicking six goals straight from a range of different scenarios, whilst Ricky Henderson continued his consistent form with a game-high 37 disposals and 10 marks.

Box Hill were unable to capitalise on their one-point lead at three-quarter time going down to Collingwood at Victoria Park by 14 points.
The Hawks lead at every change, however Collingwood produced a five-goal-to-two final quarter to come away with the win.
Jackson Ross kicked four goals for the Hawks and Kaiden Brand was named best on with 30 disposals and a staggering 19 marks.

Hawthorn had their first win of the season with a comprehensive 42-point victory over the Darebin Falcons at Bill Lawry Oval on Saturday afternoon.
It was a team effort with the Hawks having seven separate goal scorers on the day. Jess Sibley was the only forward to score multiple majors with two goals to her name.
Olivia Flanagan had her best game of the season in the midfield and Rebecca Beeson had a solid first hit out with 17 disposals.

Netball
The Hawks came up against the Boroondara Express in Round in 9 securing one win from their three matches.
The Championship side went heartbreakingly close eventually losing by one goal 53-54.
In Division one the game was a more one-sided affair with the Hawks defeated by the Express by 22 goals.
Finally, the Under 19s were able to get another victory beating Boroondara by 10 goals and remain fifth on the ladder.

Wheelchair
The Hawks had a bye in Round 2 of the Victorian Wheelchair Football League.
However, results from the weekend’s matches have meant the Hawks have moved from third to fifth on the ladder.
They will play St Kilda in Round 3 this Sunday.
