Lost to Sydney by 19 points
Ladder position: 12th
The Hawks headed to the SCG on Friday night to play Sydney in Round 14.
The Swans lead at every change and eventually walked away with the victory by 19-points.
Once again Ricky Henderson was a consistent performer with 29 disposals and Jaeger O’Meara was the best of our midfielders (28 disposals, eight clearances).
Jarryd Roughead returned for the Hawks kicking a goal in his first game since Round 7.
Buddy Franklin was at his best for the Swans kicking four goals from his five disposals, however a hamstring injury in the third quarter prevented him playing out the rest of the game.
The Hawks will now turn their attention to West Coast who will enter the Round 15 game on the back of a solid win over Essendon.
VFL
Defeated Sandringham by 37 points
Ladder position: 7th
Box Hill are back on the winners list following a 37-point victory over Sandringham at Box Hill City Oval on Saturday afternoon.
Grant Birchall made a successful return to football following a 720-day absence due to injury ending the day with ten disposals to his name.
James Cousins played his first game for Box Hill this season and made his presence known collecting a game-high 32 disposals.
Up forward Oliver Hanrahan did the most damage kicking three goals. Hanrahan was one of the Hawks nine individual goal kickers.
Ned Reeves and Marc Pittonet dominated the ruck winning the hit-outs 67-32.
The Hawks are now in the top eight, sitting in seventh position on the ladder.
VFLW
Lost to Southern Saints by 3 points
Ladder position: 7th
The Hawks played the Southern Saints in Round 7 of the VFLW where they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss.
Wet weather made life difficult for players from both sides, creating a low-scoring, contested game where every point mattered.
The Hawks scored two quick goals at the start of the final quarter to put them in the lead however a goal to the Saints with minutes to go put the win just out of reach.
Rebecca Beeson, Pip Peschke and Rosie Dillon fought hard in the midfield all day as did Lou Wotton in the ruck with 25 hit-outs.
The Hawks now sit seventh on the ladder.
Netball
Championship ladder position: 8th
Division 1 ladder position: 2nd
Under 19 ladder position: 6th
Hawks netball came up against the Ariels in Round 13 of the Victorian Netball League securing two wins from their three matches.
The club’s Championship division side had their first win in six weeks when they defeated the Ariels comprehensively by 18 goals.
The Division 1 side were also victorious defeating the Ariels by 27 goals. They now move into second place on the ladder.
The U/19’s unfortunately were unable to complete the hattrick losing by 16 goals, however they remain in finals contention with five games left in the season.

As the VWFL is played fortnightly, there were no matches this week. Hawthorn will play Collingwood this Sunday in Round 5.
