Key-position rookie Declan Keilty will make his debut for Melbourne against Hawthorn on Saturday afternoon at the MCG.

Keilty was initially named as an emergency for the 22, but on Friday was brought into the side as a replacement for Tim Smith (back soreness).

The 23-year-old was recruited from Melbourne's VFL side Casey, signing as a rookie at the end of 2017.

He has played 64 games for Casey across his time at the VFL club and can play at either end of the ground.

Keilty will be the fifth player on Melbourne's list to make his debut after being recruited from Casey, alongside Bayley Fritsch, Jay Lockhart, Tim Smith and Corey Wagner.

He is one of three Demons changes for Saturday's match, with Oscar McDonald and Josh Wagner recalled for Jack Viney (shoulder) and Sam Weideman (omitted).
