Hawthorn forward Mitch Lewis is no certainty to take his place in the side in this weekend's clash with the Gold Coast.
Lewis hurt his shoulder in the win over GWS last weekend and, despite the club not being overly concerened with the injury, he will be forced to prove his fitness ahead of the Hawks' second-last game of the season.
There is positive news for fellow forward Jack Gunston who hopes to re-join the line-up this weekend after being a late withdrawal from the Giants clash.
Veteran defender Grant Birchall appears increasingly unlikely to make a return this year with the four-time premiership Hawk set to spend at least the next fortnight on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Youngster Will Golds is also facing a race against the clock to make a return to the field this year after injuring his ankle.
