The brown and gold army is in for a super Saturday of state league action, with the VFL and VFLW teams preparing for a double header at Box Hill City Oval.
The Hawthorn women will kick things off at 11.50am, as they take on the fourth-placed Southern Saints. The Hawks are currently sitting just one percent outside the top six, and are needing a win to propel into finals contention.
The side will be buoyed by the return of AFLW-listed talent in Jayde Van Dyk and Pepa Randall, while recruit Georgia Bevan is preparing to make her debut.
The Box Hill Hawks will follow with their own contest at 2.10pm, as Max Bailey's men take on Sandringham.
The Round 12 VFL squad will be buoyed by the inclusion of four-time AFL premiership star Grant Birchall.
Birchall will take to the field for the first time since Hawthorn's Round 15 game in 2017, having dealt with knee and calf issues in the two years that followed.
As Birchall's experience comes in, Jarryd Roughead's goes out, with the former Hawthorn skipper recalled to the senior side.
The Hawks could also regain Captain Andrew Moore, who looks set to return from a shoulder injury after a month on the sidelines.
Box Hill is currently in ninth position, with this game an important hurdle in maintaining touch with the top eight.
