The Hawks will kick off their JLT Community Series against Brisbane this Sunday, and the club may use the opportunity to blood some of its developing youngsters.

With nine players on Hawthorn’s list yet to make their senior debut, it is likely a number of these names will get the chance to show their wares at the next level this weekend.

Among those in the mix, pre-season stand-outs Harrison Jones and Dylan Moore will be eager to put in a strong performance against the Lions if they are named in the team.

Jones and Moore have both been touted as being ready to step up in the absence of Tom Mitchell in 2019, and this Sunday’s game provides the perfect launching pad for their respective campaigns.

Off-season recruits Jack Scrimshaw and Darren Minchington would both relish any opportunity to impress their new coaches and teammates, while Damon Greaves, Mathew Walker and the mature-age rookie Tim Mohr figure as the most likely to make an appearance out of the draftee group.

Box Hill premiership teammates Ollie Hanrahan, Jackson Ross and Changkuoth Jiath are some other names who showed glimpses in their debut seasons and will now look to hit new heights in their second year in the system.
