While most players are happy just to make it to their 50th game milestone, Shaun Burgoyne has played a whopping six milestone games in his career - and is set to add a seventh this Saturday.
Ahead of his 350th game this weekend, we take a look back at 'Silk's' previous six milestone games to see how he and his side have performed.
50th game
Round 8 2004- North Melbourne 140 def Port Adelaide 48 at Etihad Stadium
Shaun Burgoyne: 14 disposals, three marks and four tackles
The celebration of Burgoyne’s first career milestone was tarnished by a dominant display from North Melbourne. The Kangaroos led the Power by 27 points at halftime before piling on 10 unanswered goals in the third quarter. Burgoyne was among his side’s more solid contributors on the day but it was left to too few as the Kangaroos simply outclassed the visitors.
100th game
Round 18 2006- North Melbourne 84 def Port Adelaide 65 at Etihad Stadium
Shaun Burgoyne: 13 disposals, seven tackles and seven clearances
Burgoyne’s 100th game was again against the Roos, again on a Sunday afternoon, again at Etihad Stadium. Unfortunately, the result would have given the then 23-year old Burgoyne a touch of déjà vu as well, with North Melbourne running away 19-point victors. Despite Burgoyne managing just 13 touches for the game, his seven clearances and seven tackles were both game-highs.
150th game
Round 2 2009- West Coast 125 def Port Adelaide 75 at Subiaco
Shaun Burgoyne: 21 disposals, seven marks, seven tackles and six inside 50s
Poor kicking in front of goal in the opening term of this early season clash cost the Power any chance of overcoming the Daniel Kerr-led Eagles in Perth. Although his side had a disappointing day, Burgoyne was again gallant in defeat with his tackles and inside 50 numbers both game-highs again.
200th game
Round 3 2012- Hawthorn 140 def Adelaide 84 at MCG
Shaun Burgoyne: 13 disposals, six marks and a goal
Burgoyne finally enjoyed some success in his first milestone occasion in the brown and gold. Hawthorn were simply too strong for the Crows as they registered a massive 140-point score, with 13 Hawks goalkickers. The 29-year old Burgoyne’s 13 touches were his equal-lowest of the 2012 season but nevertheless it was an important win for the Grand Final-bound Hawks.
250th game
Round 6 2014- Hawthorn 118 def Richmond 52 at MCG
Shaun Burgoyne: 24 disposals, four marks, four clearances and a goal
Burgoyne was among the Hawks best as they registered their fifth win from their opening six games, cruising to a comfortable 11-goal victory. Burgoyne was among 10 Hawks to have over 20 disposals and among 11 Hawks goalkickers.
300th game
Round 5 2016- Hawthorn 112 def Adelaide 109 at MCG
Shaun Burgoyne: 17 disposals, 11 tackles, six clearances and five inside 50s
The Hawks stormed home with a five-goal final quarter to snatch a three-point win from the Crow’s grasp. Paul Puopolo was the star with five goals, including two late ones but Silk’s 300th game was a typical Shaun Burgoyne game, making an impact in multiple facets of the game. Puopolo slotted his final goal with 18 seconds to go as the Hawks recorded a famous victory to put the cherry on top of Burgoyne’s milestone celebrations.
