Jonathon Ceglar is preparing to play his first AFL game in almost two years.
Hawthorn has confirmed a late change to its side set to face the Eagles, with Ceglar replacing James Cousins who was ruled out due to concussion.
“Unfortunately Cous suffered concussion in last week’s clash and wasn’t able to play out the game,” GM-Football Graham Wright said.
“He trained yesterday, and we gave him every chance to get himself right, but unfortunately he wasn’t quite there.
"With these sort of issues we just don’t want to take any risks.
“Ceglar comes in to replace him after showing some really strong form since returning to Box Hill three weeks ago.
“It will be great to see him back out on the field after a difficult chapter, and we’re confident he’ll come in and play his role.
It has been exactly 646 days since Ceglar’s last senior game, with the 204cm ruckman rupturing his ACL against West Coast in Round 22, 2016.
