We’ve been keeping a close eye on our signed Hawthorn women as they play out the AFLW season with their respective clubs.

There are currently three AFLW-listed women on Hawthorn’s list for the 2018 VFLW, with more to come. 

See how each of the girls performed over the weekend in Round 2 of the AFLW.

Phoebe McWilliams (GWS)

McWilliams booted the sole goal for the Giants in their 21-point loss to Carlton on Friday night. This takes her season tally to four (the equal most of any AFLW player), after the dangerous forward booted a handy three goals against the Demons in Round 1. 

She has averaged eight disposals, two marks, two tackles and two goals over the first two rounds of her second AFLW season, and featured among last week’s coaches votes (5).

Rebecca Beeson (GWS)

One of the most promising young stars in the AFLW competition, Beeson backed up last week’s Rising Star nominated performance with another strong showing. She collected eight disposals and laid three tackles in the Giants’ loss against Carlton, just shy of Round 1’s 11 touch, three tackle effort.

Emma Mackie (WB)

Hawthorn fans will be familiar with Mackie’s game style, after watching the 33-year-old carve it up in her best-and-fairest winning season for Box Hill last year.

Selected by the Bulldogs in last year’s draft, Mackie made her debut in Round 1 against Fremantle, collecting six disposals and laying two tackles. She was left out of the side that defeated the Lions by nine points yesterday, but remained an emergency. 

The brown and gold army will be hoping to see plenty more of the former Olympic cyclist in 2018.
