Hawthorn Football Club Head of Football Strategy and Innovation, David Rath, will depart the club to take up the newly created role of head of coaching at the AFL.
Rath, who previously worked in biomechanics and performance analysis at the Australian Institute of Sport, was one of Alastair Clarkson’s first appointments in 2004.
In farewelling Rath, GM – Football Operations Jason Burt thanked him and his family for their contribution to the club.
“David has had a significant impact on our football club over his 14-year tenure and his work in the fields of skill acquisition, game analytics and innovation.
“We would like to thank him for his contribution to Hawthorn Football Club and wish David and his wife Leanne, and their children Ash, James and Lochie all the best in their new adventure.”
Rath will commence his role with the AFL on January 22nd.
