Hawthorn forward Paul Puopolo says the Hawks are well and truly focused on recording an important win over Adelaide at the MCG this Saturday night.

Despite the build-up this week being largely about Shaun Burgoyne’s 350th game, Puopolo says his side hasn’t lost sight of the significance that this game poses for both sides.

“We’re crying out to get some good form back again,” Puopolo told RSN on Thursday.

“We’re looking forward to this game and it is pretty big for both teams.”

Puopolo lamented the Hawks’ form over the last month, having won just one of their previous four games.

“I think we probably fell away from our structure a little bit.

“We just had to tinker with a few little things and we got an opportunity over the bye to do that.

“I feel like now we can have a fair crack at the season and we’re feeling really confident with what we can do.”

As the Hawks looked to reset over the week off, Puopolo said the team had been mindful of limiting opposition scoring.

“I think teams have been able to get a hold of us in patches.

“I don’t think it has really been over a whole game but that is what I was talking about in terms of things we have had to tinker.

“So, hopefully we have solved that problem.”
