Cyril Rioli is special, we know this.
But it's hard to reflect just how special he was simply by looking at a stat sheet. So, here are four fun facts to illustrate the enormous impact he had on our great game...
1. Cyril Rioli is the only player in the history of the game to record at least six goals and at least 12 tackles in a game. Cyril did so in Round 21 2011 against Port Adelaide, as the Hawks won by 165 points.
2. Rioli sits behind just Gary Ablett Jnr for most games with at least two goals and at least five tackles. Rioli did so on 39 occasions, while Ablett has completed the feat 47 times. Luke Breust (36) and Eddie Betts (34) are next in line.
3. Cyril Rioli is one of just five players in VFL/AFL history to have won four premierships and a Norm Smith Medal. The other four players are Kevin Bartlett, Bruce Doull, Gary Ayres and Luke Hodge.
4. In Round 17 2016 against Sydney at the SCG, Cyril Rioli celebrated his 27th birthday by kicking the final goal of the game to give his side the lead as the Hawks triumphed by five points. Former Saint Michael Gardiner is only other player to have achieved the same feat on his birthday (in Round 14 2009, when the Saints beat Geelong by six points at Etihad Stadium).
