Hawthorn Football Club has re-signed Patrick Hill as the club’s VFLW senior coach.
Hill will lead the Hawks for a third season after first taking the reins in 2017 when the club entered the VFLW competition under the Box Hill Hawks banner.
This season Hill led Hawthorn to its inaugural VFLW premiership, turning a total of three wins in 2017 into a premiership winning season in 2018.
Starting his coaching career at Bonbeach Football Club in 2003 alongside Hawthorn’s Damian Carroll, Hill moved into a Development coaching role at Box Hill Hawks in 2011 before transitioning into a line coaching position.
Hill remained in the role for four years before moving to Frankston Football Club as head coach for two years.
The experience gained from coaching his own team, has held Hill in good stead as he transitioned into his first ever role in women’s football.
“I am so thankful that Hawthorn gave me the opportunity to coach this remarkable group of women,” said Hill.
“I am a better man for having worked with this group and I am so proud of what we have been able to achieve as not only a team, but as a football club.
“The character and values of our VFLW team is second to none and I am incredibly excited about what we can achieve next season and beyond.”
The 2019 VFLW season will start in May as Hawthorn looks to back up its 2018 premiership victory.
