When the Hawks meet the Tigers in Thursday night’s qualifying final, Shaun Burgoyne will be running out in the brown and gold for the 200th time.

Burgoyne needs just two more games to jump into Hawthorn’s top 30 of all time – a significant feat considering he already had 157 games under his belt when he arrived from Port Adelaide in 2009.

One of the most durable players of the modern game, the 35-year-old played 107 consecutive games between 2013 and 2018, before a hamstring injury in Round 2 ended his impressive streak.

The footy world saluted the Hawks champion in Round 13 as he brought up his 350th game milestone – becoming just the 16th player in AFL history to achieve such an incredible feat.

Burgoyne has also played more finals that any of his peers; preparing to play final number 34, the veteran will need just five more finals appearances to match the current record of 39 – held by fellow Hawks champion Michael Tuck.

With four premierships, an All Australian blazer and 356 games to his name, Shaun Burgoyne has had some sort of a career – and he doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon.
