Hawthorn veteran Shaun Burgoyne has refused to rule out the possibility of playing on next year for a 18th AFL season.
The oldest player in the competition, Burgoyne turns 36 in October and said it's a decision he will weigh up later in the season.
"That's up to my manager to sit down and speak with Graham Wright and the club to see the direction that the club's going in and if I fit in that or not … we weigh it up," he told SEN.
"I'm comfortable where things lie, I know exactly where I sit in the footy landscape, within the club.
"I do know (at) my age, that one injury and the career's over, serious injury that'd be."

Now the Hawks' GM-Football, Wright was responsible for Burgoyne's arrival from Port Adelaide for the 2010 season after 157 games and a premiership with Port Adelaide.
Burgoyne is set to line up for game 348 this weekend when the Hawks meet West Coast at Etihad Stadium.
If he plays the remaining 13 games of the home and away season, he will move past Fitzroy and North Melbourne champion John Blakey to sit 11th on the all-time games played list.
