The Hawks’ VFLW side has landed another prized AFLW-recruit, securing GWS forward Pheobe McWilliams ahead of the 2018 season.

A key position player, McWilliams played all seven games for the Giants last season and will again lace-up in the AFLW in 2018 before joining the Hawks.

The 32-year-old, who is set to provide the Hawks with a wealth of experience and added fire-power up forward after leading the Giants’ goalkicking in 2017, says she’s over the moon to be now part of Hawthorn’s VFLW side.

“I’m really thrilled to be honest, after I met with Hawthorn and their coaching staff and their football staff I just really felt like it was the right place to be,” McWilliams said.

“I’ve been in women’s footy for about eleven years so I’ve gained a lot of experience over that time and I’m really looking forward to helping out the younger girls and teaching them some of the things I’ve learnt at AFL level.”
