Before Peter Knights is elevated to Hawthorn 'Legend' status at next week's Mid Season Ball, we are reflecting on our seven current Hawthorn Legends to remind fans of how incredibly special and accomplished this group is.

Graham Arthur

Graham Arthur made an instant impression in his first season at Hawthorn in 1955, winning the club’s best and fairest award that year.

Playing on the half-forward flank, Arthur was a clever and talented player, who excelled at bringing his teammates into the game, ensuring the side played better.

Unflappable in a crisis he used his strength to great effect - the bigger the occasion, the better he played.

Arthur’s greatest accomplishment came in 1961, when he was the captained Hawthorn to their first VFL premiership; a truly historic day in the club's history that forever etched Arthur's names into Hawthorn immortality.
