At this Saturday’s Peter Crimmins Medal, Hawthorn will farewell a trio of club greats in Luke Hodge, Sam Mitchell and Josh Gibson.

These three players leave an indelible mark on the club, playing a combined 772 games in a brown and gold jumper.

Following Gibson’s arrival at Waverley in 2010, the trio played seven years together.

They joined forces in 104 games over that period, which included 18 finals and three premierships.

With nine Peter Crimmins Medals between them, it goes without saying they have been among the most significant players to help forge one of the most golden eras in the game’s history.

Seven of the last eight Hawthorn best and fairests are owned by one of these three.

In addition to the nine Peter Crimmins Medals, this group also boasts seven All Australian honours, two Norm Smith Medals and one Brownlow Medal.

The Hawks now face preparations for 2018, the first season since 2000 without at least one of these three names on the list.
