According to Newman, Kade Stewart and Dallas Willsmore were among the best players on the ground.

Dallas Willsmore (24 disposals, 9 marks, 1 goal)
“Willsmore provided a real link-up for us in terms of the way we were moving the footy. He had four inside 50s, a couple of score assists and a goal himself so a really good offensive game from Dall.” CN
James Cousins (23 disposals, 7 marks, 7 tackles)
“He had six clearances and five inside 50s so he worked really hard between the lines, playing inside all day. He provided a really good contest for us at every stoppage.” CN
Harry Morrison (18 disposals, 6 marks, 6 tackles, 1 goal)
“He used the ball pretty well in terms of disposal efficiency, finishing at 83%. He turned the ball over a couple of times with a couple of errant kicks but I thought, for the most part, he was quite attacking with his offensive play. He also had six tackles so he found a really good balance between offense and defence. He kicked a goal as well from the half-back line so he had a pretty good game.” CN
Ollie Hanrahan (16 disposals, 8 marks, 2 goals)
“He played forward for the bulk of the first half before we threw him into the middle of the ground. In the second half he had 11 disposals, so he was quite damaging for us when he went on-ball. He added another element for us in terms of skill and poise around the footy. He also kicked two goals and had five inside 50s, so he’s starting to show some real improvement.” CN
Kade Stewart (15 disposals, 10 marks, 8 tackles)
“Stewy’s real asset is his ability to put defensive pressure on. He was relentless with his attack on the man with his eight tackles on the day. He is also managing to hit the scoreboard every week and provide some real pressure when he goes forward too. He had two shots on goal and took ten marks so he worked really hard around the ground.” CN
Conor Glass (15 disposals, 6 marks, 3 tackles)
“Played off half-back. He took a couple of really strong marks in the air and also had a few rebound 50s for us. He’s starting to use the footy pretty well and use his leg speed. He continues to learn and get better each week as he continues to find the balance between his defence and offensive game so he’s showing some improvement.” CN
Kurt Heatherley (14 disposals, 8 marks, 3 tackles)
“Heatherley had 14 disposals and recorded 100% disposal efficiency, so he was pretty good when he had the ball in his hand. His ability to defend in the air, with big strong spoils as well as his ability to mark the ball off the opposition’s boot was good. It was a pretty solid game from his perspective.” CN
Marc Pittonet (11 disposals, 8 tackles, 25 hit-outs)
“He competed really hard in the ruck against some guys that probably are a little bit taller than what he is in Ivan Soldo and Ivan Maric. He shared the duties with Ty Vickery, but I thought both guys did well to compete under those circumstances. He laid eight tackles for a big man which is great, and shows that he is following up well and working hard around the ground.” CN
James Sicily (10 disposals, 4 marks, 2 tackles, 1 goal)
“Sicily played a bit of everywhere, both forward and a little bit up the ground. He looked dangerous when he was forward and he ended up kicking a goal. But we probably couldn’t get the ball to him at times when he looked dangerous. He will look to build on this game.” CN
Ryan Schoenmakers (10 disposals, 5 marks, 5 tackles, 2 goals)
“Schoenmakers kicked two goals. He laid five tackles as well, his forward pressure has been outstanding for a big man. He competes as well as anyone in the forward half and he makes sure he never gets out-marked so he continues to be a very good option for us.” CN
Ty Vickery (8 disposals, 3 marks, 3 tackles, 6 hit-outs, 2 goals)
“Shared the ruck duties with Pittonet, and was able to kick goals again, kicking 2.1. Like a few of our talls, we probably weren’t able to give them the right supply but I thought he worked pretty hard throughout the day for his couple of goals.” CN
Mitchell Lewis (7 disposals, 2 marks, 2 tackles, 2 goals)
“Lewis kicked two goals as well, so it’s good to see our taller guys at least hitting the scoreboard every week. Mitch has got a good attitude, he loves to put defensive pressure on and he thrives on the contest. He is a young kid who continues to learn his craft and he will get better as he goes.” CN
Conor Nash
“Conor Nash did his hamstring pretty early in the game so we will miss him for quite a few weeks now as he recovers. He was tracking along pretty well throughout the season and he is one of the guys who continues to get better each week so it is disappointing from his perspective. Hopefully we get him back sooner rather than later.” CN
