We're going through the alphabet one letter at a time categorising our Hawthorn players by not just their talent, but their surname too.
We have considered premierships, accolades, and the number of games played, to come up with a select and prestigious crop of Hawks from throughout history.

Cyril Rioli
A regular fixture on any given highlights reel and a fan favourite at the Ricoh Centre, Cyril Rioli's career has been nothing short of extraordinary. Quickly earning a spot in the Hawks forward line, Rioli had an immediate impact upon being taken with pick 12 in the 2007 draft, playing 25 games and becoming a premiership player in his debut season. In the eight seasons since then, Rioli has added three more premiership medals, the 2015 Norm Smith Medal and three All Australian honours, going back-to-back in the last two years. Recently, the superstar signed a contract that extends his stay in the brown and gold until 2020, meaning Hawks fans have a lot more Cyril magic to look forward to.
Jarryd Roughead
Hailing from Leongatha, Jarryd Roughead arrived at the Hawks with pick 2 in the 2004 draft. The subsequent 13 years has seen Roughy carve out an incredibly successful career. A four-time premiership player, two-time All Australian, two-time club leading goal kicker, Coleman Medallist and recently been announced the new club captain, he also enjoys immense popularity league-wide. Save for 2011, when Roughead suffered an Achilles tendon rupture, the superstar full-forward has kicked at least 40 goals in each of his last nine seasons- a feat that is matched by only Lance Franklin across the same period. Having been appointed as captain for season 2017, Roughead will look to make further history as he eyes off two milestones. Roughead will be trying to become only the 13th player to have played 250 games for the club, while only five Hawks have kicked 500 goals, a feat Roughead is only nine short of.
