Harrison Jones endured a roller-coaster of a weekend before finally hearing his name get called out at Monday’s Rookie Draft.
Overlooked at last Friday night’s National Draft, the 183cm on-baller was forced to contemplate the possibility of his dream not being fulfilled.
“Friday night was tough,” the former Murray Bushranger said.
But all the negativity was washed away when Hawthorn's GM - Recruiting and List Management Graham Wright read out the 18-year old’s name with Pick 7 in the Rookie Draft.
“It was just pure relief on Monday and I was just ecstatic to get on a list and especially here at Hawthorn.”
Jones had his first taste of AFL life on Wednesday morning, when he visited the Ricoh Centre and met his new teammates.
