Hawthorn has upset West Coast at the MCG to record a stunning 51-point victory.
According to Hawthorn Coach Alastair Clarkson, the win was a result of every individual player coming together and playing their role.
"The most significant part about today was we had 22 contributors," says Clarkson.
"That cohesion was there today."
Despite losing their first four games of the season, Clarkson was confident the turning point was near.
"There's been a belief and a confidence in our group that we would turn it around. Today was a small step [in the right direction]."
The Hawks now look to next week, when they will take on St Kilda at UTAS Stadium, where they currently hold a 19 game winning streak.
