Grant Birchall is expected to miss a month of football while he recovers from a fractured jaw sustained in the Hawks' Round 2 loss to Adelaide.

While it may be a few rounds until we see him back in action, Elite Performance Manager Andrew Russell says Birchall could be back out on the training track as early as next week.
