Cyril Rioli (Hawthorn)

Rioli was the main threat in Hawthorn’s forward line last week, kicking four goals and also laying 12 tackles in a comprehensive display from one of the game’s best small forwards.

With Paul Puopolo back in the team this week, Rioli will have possibly more freedom to wreak havoc and cause headaches for the North Melbourne defence.

Luke Breust (Hawthorn)

Breust was unusually quiet last week against the Demons, collecting just 13 disposals and not troubling the scorers as he went goalless for just the second time this season.

The three-time premiership Hawk will be keen to bounce back against the Kangaroos, who he averages two goals per game against.

Josh Gibson (Hawthorn)

After losing Ben Stratton early in the game last week, Gibson was forced to play a lock-down role on one of Melbourne’s key position players, which limited his ability to find the ball.

With James Frawley back in the side this week, Gibson will be keen to get back to hunting the ball in the back half against his old side.

Jamie Macmillan (North Melbourne)

Macmillan has been in great form over the last fortnight, collecting 31 disposals against St Kilda and then 30 disposals in a losing effort against the Western Bulldogs last Saturday night.

The running defender provides plenty of dash off half back for the Roos and the Hawthorn forwards will need to pay him close attention.

Todd Goldstein (North Melbourne)

After appearing to struggle with injury earlier in the season, Goldstein looks to be returning to the dominant form we have seen from him in the last couple of seasons.

Hawthorn will be relying on big games from Jonathon Ceglar and Ben McEvoy to nullify his impact at the stoppages.
