PROMISING forward James Sicily has been selected in the AFLPA’s 22under22 squad for 2016.

Sicily has found his feet at AFL level this season, kicking 28 goals in 20 appearances in 2016 – including a bag of five against North Melbourne in Round 13 which earnt him a NAB Rising Star nomination.

His other standout performances came against West Coast in Round 2 where he booted four majors, as well as Round 3 against the Western Bulldogs where he was the hero with three goals – including the match winner.

The 21-year-old kicked two goals against West Coast last Friday night.

The 22under22 squad is selected by the AFLPA board and the final team is decided by the fans who submit their teams via a website vote at www.22under22.com.au

Voting opens to the public today and footy fans can select their best 22under22 to go in the running for a prize pack.

Voting closes on the 6th of September and the team will be announced at the AFLPA MVP Awards on Tuesday 13th September.

Players must be 22 or under for the length of the AFL season (including finals), with some of the names featured this season including Marcus Bontempelli, Patrick Cripps, Jack Viney and Rory Laid.
