FAITHFUL Hawthorn members, Bernie Crimmins and Peter Walsh were awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in this year’s Queens Birthday Honours List.
Bernie Crimmins has been a Life Member of the club since 2002, and was awarded his OAM for service to medicine and men’s health awareness.
Bernie has strong ties to the club, being the brother of Hawthorn legend, Peter Crimmins as well as serving Hawthorn for 15 years in the late eighties and nineties as the club Medical Officer.
Peter Walsh was awarded an OAM for his contribution to the ABC over thirty years, which included six Olympic Games and 1,200 games of AFL, VFL, TFL and SANFL.
