FREMANTLE will be chasing its first win for 2016, when it takes on Hawthorn at Aurora Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
It’s arguably one of the toughest tasks in football.
The Hawks have won 23 of their past 24 matches at the venue – and have won eight of eight against the Dockers at their Tasmanian home.
Fremantle captain David Mundy said his side was prepared for a “really significant challenge”.
“History proves they’re a fantastic side obviously, but especially down in Tasmania and obviously we don’t get the exposure (to Aurora Stadium) that they do,” Mundy told fremantlefc.com.au.
“It’s a fantastic challenge and I’m sure the boys will be up for it.
“They’ve been a great side for a long time now… We know they’ll be a really focused and determined group and it’s up to us to match that.”
Recent form
The Dockers past three games have resulted in losses to GWS Giants by 18 points, Adelaide Crows by 33 points and Carlton by four points.
Key players
Midfielder Lachie Neale has been the Dockers’ standout performer so far in 2016, averaging 32.6 disposals per game, while Michael Walters leads the goal-kicking tally with 14 majors.
Potential changes
The Dockers will be without stars Nat Fyfe, Aaron Sandilands and Michael Johnson through injury, while Clancee Pearce, Ed Langdon, Darcy Tucker and Zac Clarke could be potential inclusions.
On Tuesday night, the Dockers announced they would be resting veteran forward Matthew Pavlich for the clash.
