HAWTHORN’S Sam Mitchell has moved into third place on the AFLCA leaderboard after four rounds. 

Mitchell polled nine votes in the Hawks’ three-point win against St Kilda on Saturday, after collecting 44 disposals.

The star Hawk was the equal highest vote-getter on the ground, alongside Saint David Armitage, who also polled nine votes.

The haul takes Mitchell to a total of 23 votes, which leaves him five behind second-placed Gold Coast Sun Tom Lynch (28) and six behind Sydney’s Luke Parker (29).

Six other players polled votes in Saturday’s match between the Hawks and Saints – two Hawks and four Saints.

Jordan Lewis polled three votes, while Isaac Smith chimed in with one.

For the Saints, Sean Dempster collected three, Jack Billings and Shane Savage picked up two apiece and Jack Steven earned a solitary vote.
