The Hawthorn Archives Collection is unique. Not only does this book detail the Club’s history, it provides personal stories of many Hawthorn players past and present, as well as coaches, support staff and fans in heart-felt letters and articles. It is also a pictorial record of the Club with rarely seen inner sanctum photographs, lift-outs and memorabilia.
A small selection of contributors to the book, Coach Alastair Clarkson, Captain Luke Hodge, fellow teammates Jordan Lewis, Sam Mitchell, Shaun Burgoyne and Property Steward, Ken Freiberg visited the Hawks Museum recently to receive their personal copies.
Appropriately, their photo was taken in front of portraits of the Club’s Legends. Each has an important role in the history of Hawthorn. Each gave to the book a different aspect of what Brown and Gold means to them.
- Alastair Clarkson provides a wonderful insight into coaching with his 4 essential elements in building a winning team.
- Luke Hodge writes of his journey from raw recruit to Premiership Captain and what it takes to be a leader.
- Jordan Lewis not only contributes a letter describing what the Club means to him and his development as a player, he shows off his guernsey collection, too.
- Property Steward, Ken Freiberg’s story tells of the respect with which he is held following years of hard work, honesty and professionalism at the Hawthorn Football Club.
- Sam Mitchell on becoming a Premiership Captain after years of having to prove his abilities and establishing standards.
- Shaun Burgoyne’s search for team success requiring total commitment to the Hawks.
The museum was proud to be involved in the research for the book and to help tell the Club’s story. This special publication is limited to only 3122 copies (in tribute to Hawthorn’s postcode). A must for any true Hawk, this book is selling quickly. Ensure that you don’t miss out on this unique edition available through HawksNest or phone (03) 9535 3011
