HAWTHORN has made one change for its Round 3 match against Western Bulldogs.
Midfielder Liam Shiels returns from a wrist injury for Sunday’s clash at Etihad Stadium, replacing Daniel Howe, who has been omitted.
GM – Football Manager Chris Fagan said Shiels was 100 per cent over his injury, and that Howe was unlucky to make way after performing well against West Coast in Round 2.
“It’s good to have Liam back in the side this week. He could have played last week but we held him over to make sure his wrist is 100 per cent,” Fagan said.
“He’s been able to do the bulk of training since his injury so he’s in good shape.
“We look forward to his contribution this weekend.
“Unfortunately, Daniel Howe is the unlucky guy who makes way for Liam.
“He played his role last week and I have no doubt he will get his chances in the AFL side in future weeks.”
Howe, ruckman Marc Pittonet and yet-to-debut forward Blake Hardwick have been named as emergencies.
The Bulldogs have made one change to their victorious Round 2 side, replacing first-year player Josh Dunkley with fellow midfielder Lin Jong.
