ALL at the Hawthorn Football Club send their heartfelt condolences to the family of Roy Baldwin, who passed away on Wednesday.
Roy joined the Hawks in 1944 winning the reserves best & fairest in his first year at the club.
He became a regular in the seniors the following year playing 17 of the first 18 games before enlisting in the army.
Roy served two years in New Britain as part of a peace marking force overseeing the Japanese prisoners being repatriated to their homeland.
He resumed his football career with the Hawks in 1947 playing a total of 41 senior games before returning to his hometown of Kilsyth in 1951.
He had an illustrious career with the Kilsyth Football Club playing 270 and was a part of five premierships including three in a row, 1951, 1952 and 1953.
He won multiple best & fairest awards and received an Order of Australia for services to Football and Cricket.
Roy was also a contributor to the clubs museum with trophies and memorabilia from his time at the club.
