Hawthorn Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson said he is not hung up on his side's drop off in the final term of its loss to Melbourne at UTAS Stadium on Friday night.
The Demons overcame the Hawks by 32 points in a scrappy encounter but Clarkson said there were a number of elements that justified the final quarter fade out.
"It was a pretty tight affair for the best part of three quarters," Clarkson pointed out.
"We were in front at the 20-minute mark of the third quarter.
"But we just fell away a bit late in the game.
"But with a few rotations and a couple of injuries, I didn't really think the last quarter was a good indication of where the game was at."
