Ouch!
Tasmania Community Camp, February 2013
Brad Sewell hit in the head whilst doing an interview
Grant Birchall is a proud Taswegian and it was in home state that he may have erupted in the greatest laugh of his life. We could describe this one in words but, in reality, we think we should just let the video do the talking.

Rawlings the match-winner!
Round 2 2003 vs West Coast
Hawthorn 13.13 91 def. West Coast 14.5 89
Recent form suggested fans could expect a tight tussle in this Round 2 match-up and that is exactly what they got. The Eagles had finished eighth the previous season to make an albeit fleeting return to finals action after two years out, while the Hawks sat 10th, behind the Eagles by a matter of percentage. This game again highlighted the evenness between the two clubs at this time. Hawthorn led at every break, but never by more than two goals. West Coast hadn’t led the game since Travis Gaspar and Rowan Jones booted the first two goals of the game but with an Andrew Embley major in the dying embers of the game, it looked like the visitors were set to snatch an unlikely victory. Enter Jade Rawlings. The 25-year-old full forward found himself on the end of a spearing pass from Shane Crawford with just two minutes to go. Settling himself with just a minute to go, Rawlings calmly went back and slotted home the game-winning goal to the raucous applause from the home fans.

All square and all she wrote!
Round 16 2017 vs GWS
Hawthorn 14.13 97 drew with GWS 15.7 97
The Hawks have played out just one draw in Tasmania across their 20 years and it was on this day in 2017. The game was a true see-sawing affair that saw the Hawks lead by a point at quarter time, the Giants by nine at the main break before a five-goal third term saw Alastair Clarkson’s side take a 15-point buffer into the final change. Shaun Burgoyne managed to slot the first of the last quarter to extend the margin to 21 points, but it did not stop the Giants. Burgoyne’s major seemed to shock the opposition into gear, recording the next nine shots at goal for the game which includes two majors to Jonathon Patton and one to Tom Scully – now both Hawks! GWS suddenly led by 13 points, but a goal and a point to Luke Breust followed by a goal from Will Langford ensured this rollercoaster of a game ended dead even.
